Dickies Creek Restoration Open House

05:00 PM | 457 Campbell St. Lucknow

Lucknow Mill Poind and Dam Info Session

Monday May 29th, 5-8:00 p.m.
457 Campbell Street, Lucknow (by the Dam)

We would like to invite you to an open house regarding the Lucknow Mill Pond.

As many of you are likely aware, the dam is in rapid decline posing a risk to human health. The dam and pond also threaten the health of local natice Brook Trout populations within Dickie's Creek.

Protekta is working with the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority and Trout Unlimited Canada to determine the best course of action to support the fish, wildlife and natural plants that inhabit the ecosystem.

The propsed plan is to remove the dam. This will help to restore the stream back to its original flow, improve water temperatures and re-establish a healthy plant community that supports the ecosystem.

We are excited to Welcome Zhilkin’s Vision as our Keynote Speaker Zhilkin’s Vision, created by Lauren Shoss and Danny Zhilkin, is an organization seeking to advocate for the destigmatization and prioritization of mental health in sports. Driven by their own experiences as athletes, Lauren and Danny hope to provide accessible information about mental health while providing a platform for athletes to reflect upon their mental health and share their stories and experiences in hopes of starting conversations and raising awareness in the sports community. You can learn more about Zhilkin’s Vision on Instagram (@zhilkinsvision) or at zhilkinsvision.com

According to the World Health Organization, around 450 million people currently struggle with mental illness, making it the leading cause of disability worldwide. Here at home, it affects more than 6.7 million of us. In fact, one in two Canadians have—or have had—a mental illness by the time they reach 40 years of age.

We hope you will join us for this incredible event where all the proceeds will go towards two local grass root organizations The Tanner Steffler Foundation and Wingham Mental Health Matters.

For tickets simply contact Cathy Pennington at Rosewood RVilla gmripley@rosewoodseniorliving.ca or call the home 519-395-0225
